By default, the Custom PC Benchmarks Suite 2007 will launch in ‘Basic’ mode. If you’re simply curious as to how fast your PC is then the basic mode is all that you need.

In basic mode you can do one of four things. Clicking on ‘Help’ will take you to this manual, while clicking on ‘Quit’ will obviously exit the benchmarks.
Clicking on ‘Start’ will activate the Benchmarks Suite 2007. For the best results, be sure to close any other programs that are running and sucking up your resources, and it’s also a good idea to defrag your PC’s hard disk drive and then reboot to ensure that your system is running optimally.
To abort the benchmarks while they are running, simply press any key or click any mouse button. To avoid accidentally aborting the benchmarks, it’s advisable to leave your PC alone during the benchmarking process (it’s a good time to go a make a cup of tea, for example). The benchmarks will run for around 30 minutes, depending on the speed of your machine, so you might want to grab a piece of cake with that cup of tea too.
If all goes well, you will end up with four scores, three of which correspond to the three tests (Image Editing, H.264 Video Encoding and Multitasking) plus an ‘Overall’ score, which is an average of the three. You will then be given the option to submit these scores to Custom PC’s online Benchmarks Leaderboard. You can submit scores to the Benchmarks Leaderboard as many times as you like, but be aware that only your highest result will be displayed.
Finally, clicking on the ‘>>’ button will switch the program into ‘Advanced’ mode.
